HAUT-JURA REGIONAL NATURAL PARC

After exiting from the A 404, the town of Oyonnax is located at the southern entrance of Haut-Jura Regional Natural Parc. It benefits from an extraordinary environment, at the gate of the Haut-Jura. Federating 96 town in Jura, Ain and Doubs, the park is seeking to preserve the quality of the natural surroundings and landscape through appropriate management measures. Because of the relief of its landscape, Haut-Jura is particulary favourable for hiking, whether on foot, horseback, mountain bike or cross-country skiing in winter. These forms of travelling are a way of intimately discovering Haut-Jura, on the condition that you are respecful of the wild fauna, in particular in the "Haute-Chaîne" Natural reservation which culminates at 1717 m at the "Crêt de la Neige".
Noteworthy : each year in september, "La Forestière", a 50 to 80 km mountain-bike race takes place across the park in the Haute-Combes area towards the town of Oyonnax.
